How many of you guys fish for Kokanee?
Just this year I started to get into fishing for Kokanee. Ive been out 5 times on Green Peter Res. and Ive been averaging 25 fish a trip.
Ive stumbled across something that works really well while trolling. Im using a 3/0 to 4/0 herring dodger, 20" of leader to a crappie jig skirt. I use double #6 hooks with a bead above the top hook and I slide the skirt down over the bead. Then I bait both hooks with white corn that has been soaked in scent. Pink colored skirts seem to work best.

I used to fish ALOT of Kokanee with my dad, at both Green Peter and Odell (used to live in Salem). and for what it's worth, this is what we found:
Trolling: Little flashers (light, but use a snap to put a small "bell" sinker on the bottom of the rudder), rubber snubber, Wedding Ring Spinner w/Night-Crawler (the "tail-half", feed the "head-half" to the fishes). Or put about 18" of leader out there and use a small, flat spoon (DiK Nite or Z-Ray, something flat and SMALL) used to use alot of Orange/Chrome combinations and that Frog pattern.
Jigging: You can always try to find them on the fish finder and anchor up. Drop some small Buzz-Bombs to the bottom and crank them back up about 10-15 feet and when you jig them, SNAP them up (about 3') and let them fall, usually get 'em on the fall. Used Orange, Chrome, and my dad used to paint some with bright red nail polish (when they got all beat-up) they worked pretty well.
Usually we would jig at Odell and Wickiup, and trolled at Green Peter and Detroit. But I think we did that a bit earlier in the year.
Good Luck
