does anyone do much trout fishin around here? i live in Battle Ground and when the rivers are blown out i like to fish bg lake. i was wondering if anybody does any good there. we usually do pretty good. it seems like everyday you have to use sompen different tho. so hit me back tite lines chris

357, I have done alot of fishing and camping at that lake. You are right, their appetite for lures and bait is everchanging. They seem to like power bait and catfish dynamite the best and bobber is the way to go. I've caught bass and trout from that lake and even seen a few steelhead taken from there. It is a nice place to go when the rivers are swollen, between runs and just to take the kids.

u are so right. its a great lake. i dislike the color right now. and the frikin scuba divers man those guys piss me off. but anway. i agree on teh powerbait. have you tried the hatchery formual brown balls? they are bomb. we killed the fish there a few days ago. i caught 18 a buddy of mine got 12 just castin out and lettin it slowy sink down. they hit it on the way down. we killed them but anyway. good luck tite lines chris

You know what really works out there for them steelhead. A slip bobber setting at about 10 feet with a sand shrimp. Thats the winner there

good call on teh sand shrip and bobber. never thought of that. but i dont see why not. i remember a year back or so. it was rainin and we were there. no one in the whole lake was catchin anything. except one guy who was usin the heads of sand shrip and throwin teh tails on the ground. then he would whip it out there and he limited out in twelve minutes!!! pretty different but good call mike tite lines chris

how do steelhead get into BG lake? recycled fish from the E. Fork Lewis?

they plant the big brooders. the spawned out ratty steelhead from fish ponds all over. i was talking to the gamie there and he said that the chrome ones that they put in, he said that they are fresh from all over wa. so i hope that answers ur question tite lines chris
