My father "nodakr" and I sent out for a day of sturgeon and salmon fishing above bonneville this saterday, our first time up there. The bottom of the river is a different creature then the lower river with lots of holes and shelfs. The first spot we anchored in didnt produce any fish so we moved out further towards the middle ;D and anchored up in front of a deep hole and the fishing clinic began. We started hitting fish as soon as our bait hit the bottom, aggresive fish that came back after missed hook sets everytime these fish where hungry, wich made it alot of fun. We caught two nice keepers and about 30 shakers if you can call them that, they all fought like keepers and we had to measure 10 or so of them,a few of the 39 inchers where taking line and we only caught two fish under 24 inches all day,it made for a great day of sturgeon fishing. We had a little bit of time to do some trolling for salmon but didnt get any. What ever you do dont use this years smelt and pour krill juice on them :Pyou may have a sore back if you do. Tight lines

Hi sorry its taken so long to reply. We fished the wind river area. Check the regs and make sure you have the proper tags. Washington tags. I also think there is a cutoff to the areas you can fish in.
