Hi - New to this board, also getting back into salmon/steelheading after many many years of not doing it. Needless to say, alot of the gear has changed.
I'm looking into getting a good baitcasting reel, mainly for river winter steelhead fishing, as well as a good but not too expensive rod. I've been looking at a Abu 6500 or a Pflueger Solara...My main focus will be on winter steelheads, but would also like something versatile enough to fish for salmon. Also, anything other advice for gear is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
