alright i have a 6 hp four stroke evinrude that is not spitting water. the water is circulating to the motor just fine but wont come out the pisser . i pull thermostat off and water shoots right out. i had a mechanic look at it before and shoot air through it and it worked just fine after that, he said it was a piece of salt probably but it keeps on happening. so i planned on going over to the yaquina bay tomorrow and low and behold i can't get it to spit at all this time. any ideas?  |

Its time to use it to fish for some Yaquina gators.

picking it up wednesday on my way over to newport to dig clams on the -1.8 tide and then to catch some sea bass. woohoo! going with porter and lillis.

If that engine has a low water pick up, that is always going to be a problem. Mercury put a low water pick up on the Bravo Ones and Threes, big mistake for people who run shallow waters. Great for for more water flow via better cooling. Hit a sand bar and she acts like a vacuum cleaner with a lot of horse power. Try enlargening the hole a little bit in spitter.
